| The Eiffel Tower is a famous landmark in Paris, France. It is named after its designer/engineer Gustave Eiffel. |
![]() |
| Students constructed their own Eiffel Tower using a stapler, newspapers, tape and a small figurine which made it easier to view the 3D nature of the structure. |
![]() |
| We broke our project down into three sections: the upper tower, the middle section and the base. |
![]() |
| The Eiffel Tower in France is made of iron and is 1050 feet! Much heavier and taller than our towers! |
![]() |
| Students learned it took several years to build the Eiffel Tower and was completed in 1889. It took two years, two months, and five days to build to be exact! |

| VOILA! Our very own Eiffel Tower! |

| Students were arranged in small groups and invited to imagine that it is Pentecost 2,000 years ago and they are reporting live from Jerusalem. |
![]() |
| Everyone enjoyed recalling and acting out the day Mary and the disciples received the Holy Spirit promised by God. |
![]() |
| Group members played the parts of the Blessed Mother, the disciples, a reporter and the crowd. |

| The reporter from each group asked those who were present at Pentecost about the amazing events they witnessed. |

| Students created their own anemometers with help from the 8th Grade. |
![]() |
| We used paper cups, push pins and sharpened pencils with an eraser to make the anemometers. |
![]() |
| Anemometers are important tools for meteorologists who study weather patterns. |
![]() |
| Wind will catch the cups and rotate them, the rotations are counted and wind speed is calculated. |

| Parents and students were challenged to build a Tennis Ball Tower |
![]() |
| The challenge was to build a tower that would hold a tennis ball aloft. The bottom of the ball had to be at least 10cm off the desks |
![]() |
| We used craft sticks, straws, tape, tennis balls and string |
![]() |
| Everyone followed the steps of the Engineering Design Process and were successful in building their own unique models! |
![]() |
| The goal of this project was to build a freestanding structure using only toothpicks and marshmallows as tall as possible and strong enough to not collapse. |
![]() |
| The groups practiced teamwork, communication and leadership to make it a success! |
![]() |
| Students figured out the key to making a strong structure is building a strong base. |
![]() |
| Students discovered it was best using a solid base of triangles joined together for the strongest possible base. |
