| Parents and students were challenged to build a Tennis Ball Tower |

| The challenge was to build a tower that would hold a tennis ball aloft. The bottom of the ball had to be at least 10cm off the desks |

| We used craft sticks, straws, tape, tennis balls and string |

| Everyone followed the steps of the Engineering Design Process and were successful in building their own unique models! |

| Students constructed a marble run using a cardboard base, paper towel rolls, tape, glue, craft sticks and marbles. |

| This marble run made a great STEM challenge for our class. |

| Each run had to include 2 turns on a firm foundation and stand a minimum of 12 inches tall. |
 |
| The goal of this project was to build a freestanding structure using only toothpicks and marshmallows as tall as possible and strong enough to not collapse. |

| The groups practiced teamwork, communication and leadership to make it a success! |
 |
| Students figured out the key to making a strong structure is building a strong base. |
 |
| Students discovered it was best using a solid base of triangles joined together for the strongest possible base. |
