Building Structures with Marshmallows and Toothpicks

The goal of this project was to build a freestanding structure using only toothpicks and marshmallows as tall as possible and strong enough to not collapse.

The groups practiced teamwork, communication and leadership to make it a success!

Students figured out the key to making a strong structure is building a strong base.

Students discovered it was best using a solid base of triangles joined together for the strongest possible base.
